Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County has been awarded the status of 2014 HomeCare Elite. This is a compilation of the most successful home care providers in the US. The HomeCare Elite list is comprised of the top 25% of agencies based on performance measures. The determination is made through use of publicly available data from Home Health Compare and CMS Cost Reports. There are five domains of performance used quality of care, quality improvement and consistency, patient experience (HHCAHPS), process measure implementation and financial performance. Reno County Hospice and Home Health was one of five agency named in this award along with only 15 total from Kansas.

Latina Hada, RN, WCC, Case Manager for Hospice and Homecare of Reno County, has been certified in the treatment of wound care patients by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO), a prestigious healthcare organization headquartered in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Hada was awarded the certification following successful completion of a rigorous two hour, 110 question examination that was administered by officials within NAWCO.

The Wound Care Certification (WCC) is regarded as the top certification available in the nation for healthcare professionals that are employed in the treatment of would care related illnesses.

Hada is a graduate of Dodge City Community College with a degree in Nursing and joined Hospice and Homecare of Reno County in February 2014 as a Registered Nurse Case Manager.

Kevin Miller, F.A.C.H.E., President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, said the certification affirms that Hada is highly trained in her field of expertise and has the qualifications to administer the highest standard of wound care treatment to the patients she serves.

“Certification with national healthcare organizations is a high priority for the employees at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System and we commend Latina for going the extra mile in completing the steps to make this happen,” Miller said. “As a result of this specialized training, she will truly make a positive difference in improving the high quality of care for patients at Hospice and Homecare of Reno County.”

Hospice and Homecare of Reno County is an affiliate of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. Other affiliates are Health-E-Quip, Horizons Mental Health Center, Ray E. Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, and Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation.
